- נִקְרָא, נִי׳m. (נְקַר I) 1) cleft.Pl. נִקְרַיָּא. Targ. Y. I Num. 24:21 (Y. II כבקרת, read: בנִקְרָתָא, v. נְקִירְתָּא). 2) rag, lint. Sabb.134b האי נ׳ מסי Ms. O. a. Ar. (ed. הני כתיתין מסו) a compress of lint has a healing effect (and is not merely a protection). 3) pickings, worms which hens pick. Ab. Zar.28a נִי׳ מקילקלתא (Ms. M. נִיקְרֵי pl.) worms from a dunghill.
